A PENSIONER was killed after a ceiling collapsed on her and five elderly residents at a Liverpool care home.
Mary Potter, 89, was sitting in the lounge of the Maghull Group’s St Michael’s Manor nursing home, in Allerton, when a bay window ceiling crashed down, an inquest heard yesterday.
Another five pensioners were injured and each needed hospital treatment.
But Mrs Potter, who was trapped by the rubble, died days later at the Royal Liverpool hospital.
