FANS of The Beatles will soon be able to go on an international magical mystery tour - without ever leaving the Cavern.
The ECHO can today reveal that plans to open replicas of Cavern in Australia, Spain, the USA and Brazil are at an advanced stage.
Today hundreds of thousands of Fab Four fans were flocking to the site of the original Cavern in Mathew Street to see where it all began for The Beatles.
But now plans have been drawn up to take the legend of The Beatles around the globe - four decades after John, Paul, George and Ringo first shook the world.
Cavern City Tours are behind the ambitious scheme which would see replicas of the Cavern being built in Adelaide, Sao Paolo, Rio, Marbella, Miami and New York. There has also been interest from Mexico and Argentina.
The new outlets would incorporate the name, images, logos and merchandise of Liverpool's original version of the Cavern.
Bill Heckle, chairman of Cavern City Tours, said: "We have started to put something together and things are developing quite positively at the moment.
"We went to Rio last week to look at the site which has been earmarked for the development there.
"The group behind the Rio plans are in Liverpool for talks this weekend and they are hoping to have the Rio Cavern open in six to nine months.
"We are also talking about bands from Liverpool going on tour to all of the new venues.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to spread the name of the Beatles and the Cavern around the world."
