Boy killed in accident with forklift truck
| |
AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy has been killed after he was hit by a forklift truck at his family's farm. Thomas Frank Baybutt, of Halsall, near Ormskirk, died following the accident which happened in Sealand, near Queensferry, North Wales. It is believed the machinery was being driven by a relative. Thomas, the middle of three children, was at the farm visiting his grandfather, Bill Banks, who also owns the farm where the family live in Halsall. Last night his parents, Andrea and Frank, were being comforted at their home in New Cut Lane, Halsall. Mr Baybutt said: "Thomas had gone to see his granddad in Wales. He really loved being at the farm there. "He only died yesterday and we are too upset to talk about it." A joint investigation between police and Health and Safety officers is now under way into the circumstances surrounding Thomas' death. |
