A LESBIAN couple from Liverpool are expecting a baby after they bought sperm on the net. Jaime Saphier, 26, from Walton, turned to the service after deciding she wanted children with her partner of four years, Sarah Watkinson, but was getting no help from her GP. Jaime conceived after buying sperm from the internet site 'MAN NOT INCLUDED' and is expecting a child in January. She conceived on her first attempt. Jaime said: "We had been thinking about having children for about two years but I was starting to think it would never happen." The couple registered imediately after they discovered the website. Jaime said: "It was fantastic everyone was really helpful and we found the whole process simple, everything happened when they said it would and doing everything at home meant it was private and comfortable. She added: "It is amazing. I jumped around the house when I found out and Sarah just sat in shock. "We know that some people will be against what we have done and they are entitled to their opinions. "As long as our child is loved and does not want for anything I can't see how it is wrong." Sarah, 31, said: "We are so pleased we didn't have to through a lot of trauma. We always knew we wanted to be a family and this means the world to us. Jaime added: "We've got the support of both of our families and there will be plenty of men in its life. So the baby will not be deprived of a male role model." On the MAN NOT INCLUDED site couples are able to check the criteria such as race, eye colour, height and weight of prospective donors. They were also able to look at factors such as their background, educational history and artistic ability. |
