* THE Liverpool ECHO's parent company is to donate cash to the tsunami appeal.
Trinity Mirror North Wales and North West, which owns the ECHO, Liverpool Daily Post and weekly newspapers across Merseyside, is to match all the funds which have been raised by staff since the dis-aster.
The company expects to donate £5,000 directly to the Disaster Emergency Committee, taking the staff and company combined contribution to the appeal to about £10,000.
Employees in our centres in Old Hall Street, Liverpool, Southport and Wirral have been fundraising through various events over the past two weeks.
Liverpool ECHO editor Mark Dickinson said: "We are delighted to be involved in the fundraising concert and want to urge readers to book their tickets as soon as possible for the event.
"And we are pleased to be able to not only match the fundraising efforts of our staff but also to make an additional £5,000 donation to the appeal."
* ARE you a local business person or the boss of a company based in Liverpool? If so, we need your help.
A charity auction will be staged at the concert to help boost funds and we want YOUR business to donate a top quality prize.
Also, luxury boxes seating six people are available at the concert, costing £1,000.
To make a donation to the raffle, or for information on purchasing a box at the Philharmonic on February 11, contact the ECHO's Penny Woods on 07776 498098.
