Family of Rhys Jones killer evicted from Croxteth home

THE jailed mum of Rhys Jones’ killer lost the fight against eviction from her Liverpool home. Janette Mercer, 50, is serving a three-year prison sentence for lying to police about her murderer son. But despite facing another year behind bars before she is eligible to be released on licence, she fought attempts to throw her and her family out of their home in Good Shepherd Close, Croxteth.
