GRAHAM Sankey – the man who once confessed to the attack for which Michael Shields was wrongly imprisoned – has been arrested over an alleged attack on Liverpool’s Labour leader Joe Anderson.
Cllr Anderson was at the forefront of the campaign to free Michael, which finally succeeded with the granting of a Royal Pardon in September.
He was returning home from the Everton match with his son on Saturday evening when he claims he was threatened and abused by two men, before one attacked his car leaving two dents in the roof.
