LABOUR Wavertree MP Jane Kennedy today quit the crumbling government after refusing to back the Prime Minister.
Mrs Kennedy issued a stinging attack on No 10 - and said she felt unable to pledge her support for Gordon Brown following the disastrous results in the EU elections.
The party ended up third nationally behind UKIP in the polls increasing calls for embattled Mr Brown to go.
The Liverpool MP resigned as environment minister of state as the PM began reshuffling his middle and lower ranking front benches.
