The trained laughter clinic leader is Stephanie Davies, a stand up comedian and tutor at the Comedy Trust.
She said: "I use playful techniques to encourage everyone to laugh which physically helps you to feel good."
The laughter sessions are based on an Indian technique, developed by Dr Madan Kataria, who recognised that laughing was good for the body and spirit. He developed laughter exercises, based on yoga, which concentrate on breathing and stretching to get the blood flowing and a good laugh to release endorphins.
Combined together, these activities also help to boost the immune system.
The Liverpool Comedy Trust has also held laughter clinics in health centres across the city and at the Royal Court Theatre.
