Mediums called in to aid search for lost cat

"I don't see the work of clairvoyants and mediums as any less valid than any other skill, gift or ability. Just because I can't see it, it does not mean it is not there. Mr Crompton met Scarisbrick-based Acorah, the star of TV's Ghost Towns, at a clairvoyant show and says the psychic has been of great use. "Derek is an extremely kind and gifted man with an extraordinary psychic ability." added Mr Crompton. "Every one of the people I consulted said Smokie is still alive and well, but being held against her will." Mr Crompton said following the mediums' instructions did lead him to a cat, but it was not his. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT He said: "One of the mediums led me to a farm and the owner said he had spotted Smokie so we set up a trap. "Unfortunately it wasn't Smokie, but it did look a lot like her. We managed to re-unite it with its owner, though I'm not sure it was lost." Mr Crompton said he will not give up the hunt until he knows what has become of his moggy. He said: "I need closure on this so I can get on with my life. "I've been out at four or five in the morning and set up a strategic operations room so I can plan my next search. "I have approached the search as you would a military campaign and I won't rest until I know one way or another. "My other cats, Freddy and Chico are moping around, we all miss Smokie terribly. "It is not an option for me to sit back and wait, you've got to be optimistic."
