Riverside’s Louise Ellman wants to know why justice secretary Jack Straw did not give “sufficient weight” to the new evidence which emerged during a Merseyside Police investigation.
Last week Mr Straw provisionally refused a free pardon for the 22-year-old engineering student because he was not convinced that he was “morally and technically innocent.”
