TARANTINO fever erupted in Liverpool city centre when the cult film director visited the Virgin Megastore for a signing session.
Queues stretched as far as Church Street as hundreds of fans waited to be issued with the wristbands that would allow them to meet the director and have their posters, books and DVDs signed.
Tarantino, dressed from head to foot in black, emerged to cheers and a round of applause from fans gathered in the store.
First in the queue were Tom Fearon, 17, from Orrell Park; Jake Higginson, 16, from Page Moss, and Luke Fletcher, 16, from Fazakerley, who had all been queueing since 5.30am to meet the idol.
Tom said afterwards: "It was a dream come true and well worth the wait, even if I only met him for a few seconds.
"He’s the best director in the world. He uses so many genres, the best actors, and the stories are different."
To prove that Tarantino’s appeal was not just confined to men, there were also many women fans queueing patiently.
Michelle Whittle, 19, from Ormskirk, said: "The women are really powerful in his films and they are figures to aspire to."
Sharon Roberts, 39, who works at the store, said: "I just really admire all his work and it’s not often you meet someone like that."
Virgin Megastore’s general manager Ian McCavish said: "This is one of the most successful signing sessions ever."
