He also paid special tribute to his fans by going around to speak to all the supporters who attended the event.
He said: “I know that it could all end tomorrow and I’m prepared to work and be smart. If it was not for you lot I wouldn’t be here. All the hard work has paid off. I cannot believe how far I have come. I’m really proud of myself.
Ray said of X-Factor: “After Leona did her first song, I thought, ‘She’s won’. Leona and me put on a great show that evening and we were both winners in the end. I was made up for her. That was her moment and I was so proud of her and that’s where I picked her up on the show.
“When X-Factor’s Simon Cowell asked me to go to Vegas, it was the best day of my life. It really was. I was out there for a month and even used Frank Sinatra’s microphone.”
Ray’s family attended the event, including his mum, dad and girlfriend Kirsty. He said: “I got my mum a necklace for Mother’s Day during the week.”
Megan Smith, 16, from Liverpool said: “Ray’s fantastic. I screamed when he said he was going to come around the tables to see his fans.” Shelby Shepherd, 16, from Liverpool, said: “My favourite song he did today was Mack the Knife.” Sarah Fedigan, 15, from Liverpool, said: “It’s been a great event and we’ve all really enjoyed it.” Helen Nelson, 17, from Liverpool, said: “It’s been brilliant. Ray launched his swing album this week with a whistle-stop, high-flying tour of the north of England in a specially branded Ray Quinn helicopter.
