As revealed by the Daily Post yesterday, the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) was unveiled as the latest 2008 backer, investing £2m over the next four years. Loyd Grossman, deputy chairman of the Liverpool Culture Company, praised the NWDA and the other committed sponsors, law firm Hill Dickinson, Radio City, United Utilities and Enterprise plc.
Describing the excitement as "tangible", Mr Grossman said: "Our determination is that Liverpool will be transformed irreversibly and sustainably. It will affect the lives of people for generations to come."
And Lord David Owen, the former SDP leader who is Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, said: "There is a fund of goodwill for Liverpool. People outside Liverpool love your city and this is an opportunity to show what you are doing"
