Liverpool pop singer, actress Jennifer Ellison

TV star Jennifer Ellison was today being questioned by detectives after the Liverpool actress's boyfriend was charged with robbery.

Tony Richardson, 25, allegedly robbed a journalist of a Sony mini disc player at her 21st birthday party, at London's Jewel Club.

He will appear at Bow Street magistrates' court on bail on July 21.

Miss Ellison was today due to attend a police station in London to answer police bail after being arrested in connection with the alleged incident.

Detectives from the Metropolitan force were due to speak to the singer and actress, and to tell her if she faced any charges, this afternoon.

Miss Ellison turned 21 when she was taking part in reality TV show Hell's Kitchen, in which celebrities worked for outspoken chef Gordon Ramsay.

She went on to win the competition and after the programme ended she organised the lavish bash at the Jewel Club.

Co-stars from Hell's Kitchen attended the party along with Miss Ellison's family and friends from Liverpool.

At the party Mr Richardson allegedly got involved in an argument with freelance journalist James Fox, who made a complaint to the Metropolitan police.

Last Wednesday, officers travelled to Merseyside and arrested both Mr Richardson and Miss Ellison.
