A DUMPED girlfriend who ripped off her exlover's testicle was today jailed for two and a half years. Personal assistant Amanda Monti, 24 , launched an unprovoked attack on 37-year-old Jeffrey Jones after a drunken row. Liverpool crown court heard jilted Monti pulled off Mr Jones's testicle after he rejected her advances. Monti, of Clifton Road, Birkenhead, pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding Mr Jones on May 31 last year. Trevor Parry-Jones, prosecuting, told the court that Monti had been in a relationship with Mr Jones for a number of years, and about a month before the attack he decided to end it. But Monti continued to call him. The court heard that the night before the attack, she offered to drive him to his home in Netherton froma friend's barbecue. Mr Jones told her he was going out again to Crosby and she asked if she could remain at his home with his friends. A group of people were at Mr Jones's house later that night and during the early hours Mr Jones came out of the bathroom to find Monti standing at the top of the stairs. The court heard she told him she wanted to talk about their relationship and to have sex with him, but he told her he was not interested. A series of struggles ensued. Mr Parry-Jones said Monti ripped Mr Jones's shorts off and grabbed one of his testicles. Mr Jones was taken to hospital where a series of operations failed to reattach his testicle. Wendy Lloyd, defending, said Monti was horrified with her actions that night and wished she could turn the clock back. She said: "She did not mean to do this, although she did mean to cause some kind of harm." Judge Charles James told Monti he had taken into account a number of descriptions of her as a kind, conscientious and caring person and that she had also pleaded guilty before the trial. |
