TWO former Brookside stars are launching their own business today aimed at helping victims of bullying and racism to fight back.
Suzanne Collins and Ann-Marie Davies will teach people how to get over major life hurdles using their acting skills in role-play sessions.
The celebrity duo have chosen today, Women In Enterprise Day, to officially launch their new Wirral-based coaching company, High Horizons Ltd.
Suzanne and Ann-Marie have already been developing their workshop techniques by touring Merseyside schools holding anti-bullying sessions, and have now decided to extend their service to businesses across the region.
Suzanne said: "After Brookside came to an end and I gave birth to Mya nearly a year and a half ago, Ann-Marie and I decided to run a series of workshops tackling everything from bullying to boosting women's confidence.
"We'd had a great deal of fun doing screen workshops whilst working with Mersey Television.
"So, setting up our own company was the next big step. Bringing Mya into the world and the recent death of my mum really motivated me to do something worthwhile."
They now plan to tackle a whole array of both school and work problems.
"As we've recently heard in the news, almost every child is affected by abuse and is in danger of growing up in a society that sees violence as the norm unless something is done about it," added 30-year-old Ann-Marie, who is expecting her first baby next year.
"Suzanne and I believe that schools who say that they don't have a problem have a duty to take their heads out of the sand and stand up to playground abuse as well as a whole cesspit of other problems."
