Jimmy Osmond starred on stage with 11 year-old Izabella Field

A LIVERPOOL schoolgirl took a step towards stardom after serenading Jimmy Osmond at a charity party.

The 70s star was so impressed by 11-year-old Izabella Field singing Long Haired Lover from Liverpool at the charity event he asked her to sing at his star-studded Empire event.

Broughton Hall girls school pupil Izabella, of Sandforth Road, West Derby, belted out her favourite Whitney Houston song 'I Have Time' the next night at the Empire.

It capped a whirlwind 48 hours for the year seven schoolgirl who was picked to sing to Jimmy during the special Variety Club concert at the Adelphi on Sunday attended by the other Osmond brothers and Atomic Kitten's Jenny Frost.

Izabella, who has a sister Gabriella, 15, now hopes to launch a career in singing and dancing and is signed up for drama lessons in Manchester.

Her mum Gina said: "When she sang for Jimmy on Sunday he was bowled over and immediately said he wanted her on his show at the Empire.
