Mr Cooper added that the evening, which is open to the public as well as Gourmet Club members, was s the first in a planned series of wine tasting events at the hall.
The Gourmet Club was launched in January and already has close to 300 members. It is part of a drive by the venue to open up its facilities to a wider range of events and customers.
As part of this, the hall recently announced plans to hold two outdoor summer concerts for the first time this year, a Summer Proms event presented by the North of England Concert Orchestra on June 24, with an appearance by legendary rockers Status Quo on the following evening.
The hall will also be open to the public from May 8 to 12 (inclusive). Tickets are now on sale on 0151-489 4827.
