All you need is Love - and some Beatles nostalgia

THE surviving Beatles and their families put aside their differences to appear alongside each other at the premiere of a Las Vegas show celebrating their music.

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr joined Yoko Ono on the red carpet for the first night of Love, a surrealistic portrayal of the band's career, performed by Cirque du Soleil.

The event, at the Siegfried and Roy Theatre in the Mirage Hotel on Friday, chronicled a deconstructed musical trip through the Fab Four's past.

John Lennon's widow Yoko, wearing a large white hat and matching pantsuit, drew loud cheers from fans.

She later posed for photographs with Paul McCartney, with whom she had a well-publicised rift for a number of years.

She said: "All this time when I was working on this show in the rehearsals, I thought, 'Oh, John should be here.'

"He would have enjoyed it so much."

Olivia Harrison, the widow of George Harrison, spoke over her shoulder as she was whisked past a crowd. "I hope he (George) would like it."

Love is a dance and acrobatic spectacle filled with characters from their songs.
