A LIVERPOOL pub manager was held hostage by a knife-wielding attacker and forced to hand over thousands of pounds.
The raid was carried out at the Philharmonic Dining Rooms, in Hope Street, by a robber who hid inside the premises and waited for staff to leave.
He seized the 21-year-old assistant manager when he returned to the locked pub to check the alarm.
He threatened him with a nine-inch fish gutting knife, saying: "Don't be a hero. Get on your knees and turn around."
The manager was led down to the cellar, ordered to unlock the safe and hand over £1770.55.

He was then forced to carry 10 heavy bottles of expensive Veuve Clicquot champagne upstairs.
His attacker then stole his mobile phone and ordered the assistant manager back to the cellar before escaping into Hardman Street.
