IT IS the latest skirmish in the Battle of Capricorn Crescent.
Peace and quiet was restored when neighbours on a Dovecot street paid £7 each to build a wall to keep out yobs from a nearby estate.
The 6ft wall across the nearby public footpath meant quad bikers, drunken youths and vandals were kept away, and calls to the police dropped dramatically.
But because the wall was blocking aright of way, the residents had broken the law and council workmen dismantled it on Monday.
