A MERSEYSIDE toddler is being denied treatment to help him walk for the first time because of the cost.
Botox injections would transform three-year-old Callum Boan's life, but his parents must pay £1,000 per treatment.
The Liverpool FC-mad youngster has cerebral palsy spastic diplegia, also suffered by his mother Adele. It means he must crawl to get around his St Helens family home and cannot play football with his friends.
Health chiefs have told Callum's family there is currently no funding to admit new patients.
It means their only option is to go private. But eachtreatment, which can benefit a child for up to six months, costs £1,000, and while it is available in places such as Oxford and Newcastle, funding allocated for the drug on Merseyside has been used up.
