THIS year's Mathew Street Festival was the biggest and best yet. Organisers of the largest free annual music event in Europe said a record breaking crowd of music-lovers packed the city's streets for the four-day event. More families than ever were on the streets yesterday enjoying the finale of the weekend. Manyhad brought picnics and even their pet dogs as young and old danced in the bank holiday sunshine. During the festival, 75 bands performed on five stages across the city and organisers believe that the huge choice of music attracted different generations. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT Water Street, usually bustling with traffic, was turned into a funfair for the weekend. Kris Donaldson, marketing director of Liverpool Culture Company, said: "It really has been something for everyone.
