Road closures as cycling tour reaches city

THE Northwest stage of cycling’s Tour of Britain reaches Liverpool tomorrow, meaning certain sections of the city centre will be closed to traffic.

Riders will depart from The Sandcastle in Blackpool at 10.30am, with the cyclists expected in Liverpool from about 2.30pm.

Castle Street will be closed from 7pm on Tuesday, 29th August until 6.30pm on Wednesday, 30th August. Water Street will be closed from 5am to 4.30pm on Wednesday, 30th August.

The Strand will be closed between James Street and Great Howard Street from 1pm to 3pm on Wednesday, 30th August.

There will be no on-street parking allowed on Drury Lane, Brunswick Street, Fenwick Street, Cook Street or North John Street from 4pm on Tuesday, 29th August to 6.30pm on Wednesday, 30th August.
