MERSEYSIDE companies are being warned to be extra vigilant before doing business with opportunist start-ups in the run up to 2008.
Liverpool expects to see a flurry of new enterprises launched, encouraged by the city's 800th birthday celebrations this year, and European Capital of Culture Year in 2008.
But if the enterprise boom is to leave a legacy beyond 2008, all businesses need to take a professional approach to credit, warn experts.
