MARKS & Spencer's new Simply Food store at the New Mersey Retail Park in Speke is to open its doors a week tomorrow and Liverpool's 200m Butterfly Olympic bronze medallist Steven Parry will join store manager Richard Williams to officially open the shop at 10am.
Building on the success of Marks & Spencer's recently opened fashion store, the Simply Food store has created 70 new jobs. The fashion store brought 100 new jobs.
Celebrations will begin with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. The store is also planning a day full of entertainment, including food and wine tastings in-store.
Shopping will be easy as the 9,500 sq ft store will feature over 2,600 of the finest quality food products including ready meals, fresh produce, sandwiches, salads, snacks, a bakery and wines and beers.
The store will also stock hosiery, cards and gift-wrap and an array of fresh flowers and plants.
