A TRADE mission to Denmark is being organised to give small firms in Merseyside the opportunity to cash in on the country's booming construction sector.
Almost nine out of ten construction firms in Denmark cannot keep up with the soaring demand for new buildings triggered by the country's economic success.
Merseyside businesses could help solve the crisis by exporting their products and services to our Scandinavian neighbour.
As a first step, firms are being encouraged to consider exporting to Denmark with the help of a prospective market visit to the country in October.
The International Trade Centre for Greater Merseyside, based in Old Hall Street, is offering to subsidise up to half of businesses' expenses on a specially-organised market visit starting on October 2 this year.
"Denmark is an ideal starter market for all ranges of companies, even those with no experience in exporting," said international trade advisor, Rachel Davenport.
"In the construction sector in particular, there is zero unemployment and companies are having to turn down work simply because they cannot meet demand."
