Pedestrian killed on Liverpool road

A WOMAN was killed in a crash on a busy Liverpool road. The victim, a woman believed to be middle-aged but who has not yet been named, died after being struck by a motorbike on Stanley Road, Kirkdale, at around 8.50am today (Saturday). The pedestrian was hit by a Yamaha motorcycle travelling away from the city. Paramedics were called but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The bike rider was taken to the Royal for treatment. His injuries are currently unknown. Police closed Stanley Road to allow accident investigators to work at the scene and gather evidence.
