Two bailed over newsagent stabbing

TWO men were arrested and bailed over a stabbing outside a Liverpool newsagents.

The pair, aged 25 and 28, were arrested by police on Friday on suspicion of assault.

They were questioned by detectives investigating the stabbing of a 24-year-old Yemeni man outside the Park Road newsagents, Toxteth, on Tuesday night.

The victim was knifed in the stomach and remains in hospital.

Police are investigating reports he had been cornered by two hooded white men who were shouting racist abuse.

The two suspects were released on bail after being quizzed.
