READING the front page of the ECHO (October 8), it looks as though Liverpool Football Club will move to Stanley Park. What a shame that common sense hasn't shone through.
More space is needed nowadays to keep up with the growing amount of supporters. There aren't proper parking areas around the Stanley Park site, as it's only yards from where all the congestion has been on match days for years.
I'm concerned for the local children, most of whom are kept in on match days, and the amount of motorists who get parking tickets. It's a shame that the supporters don't have proper parking areas.
The new stadiums should be in large empty spaces, so that cars, buses and coaches can all park and with room to spare. More should be done to help the supporters. I live locally and I see it all from my window. The supporters don't know where to park.
NOW that LFC have started the ball rolling with their new ground, I still think the people of Liverpool would welcome a dog track.
Planning permission was recently turned down from one populated city area. How about the now-defunct garden festival site, which has been empty for many years? There are even train and bus routes within walking distance to the city centre. It would also bring much needed work to the south end of Liverpool.

A dog's life
I TOTALLY support the residents of Fazakerley against the greyhound stadium. In these difficult times, we should be building for the community, i.e. family centres, facilities to bring kids off the streets, not for the few who want to gamble.
Also greyhound racing exploits animals. Thousands of young dogs, no longer winners, need to be rehomed.
As the Greyhound Racing Association has gone to the top with its appeal, maybe we should be writing to our MPs in protest.
