* MY daughter and my girlfriend were travelling home using a private hire taxi firm. On completion of the journey my girlfriend realised she had left my daughter's bag behind but after enquiries to the taxi firm, no bag had been handed in.

Apart from my daughter's clothes, accessories etc there were personal items as well. This person or lowlife who has decided to take my daughter's travelling bag.

I just hope your conscience can live with stealing off a seven month-old baby.

Paul Cottier,
Speke

* WHAT was MP Ann Winterton thinking of telling a joke about the Chinese cocklers during an after-dinner speech?

No wonder she's been expelled from the Tory party. Regardless of how thoroughly distasteful it is to make fun of such a tragic incident, even if she believed it was harmless then it shows judgement ill-befitting a member of parliament.

I certainly wouldn't want someone with that kind of lack of sense representing me.

John Hardman,
L3, via e-mail

* HOW can any decent human being seriously consider hare coursing to be a sport? It is nothing more than out-dated barbarism.

The sight of these people standing and baying for blood turned my stomach; they should be ashamed of themselves instead of hiding behind the word 'sport.' It is killing, nothing more.

Vicky Ross,
Crosby

* I WOULD never dream of going to Altcar to watch the hare coursing. But I would go to watch a hare courser given a 50 yard start on two cheetahs.

Harry Lloyd,
Clubmoor

* I WOULD like to pay tribute to the district nursing team attached to Oak Vale Medical Centre.

These nurses have been treating me for over six months and a more dedicated group of people you could not meet.

Mary Coghlan,
Liverpool 15
