I BELIEVE the street traders' stalls in Church Street are a disgrace and cannot be justified under any circumstances.
When my friends arrived in Liverpool for the first time and saw the stalls and all the tatty goods displayed they thought it was market day, and when told they were allowed to trade on the main shopping street every day, they just could not believe it!

Purse returned
APPROXIMATELY eight months ago, my wife's purse went missing whilst on a family shopping trip to Liverpool city centre. Obviously, we thought that we would never see it again. The money, although missed, was not as important as the photographs and sentimental items contained in it.
Imagine our surprise when, out of the blue, the purse was returned.
I would just like to express my thanks to Dave Davies, manager of the Fiesta Havanah cafe bar in North John Street, who found the purse during refurbishment and took the time to return it, and enclose a lovely covering letter.
My wife is over the moon to have her photographs back and we wish the Fiesta all the best in the future. Thoughtfulness and kindness still exists in this fine city.
