I MUST admit that when Mr Blair recently told us about the terrorist threat to our way of life I, quite naturally, did not believe him. But the lady from MI5, with her warnings for the future, has convinced me that he was right.
So, in addition to whatever measures the government intends to introduce in the next Queen's Speech, I would like to add one of my own.
As one who is not the least bit happy about the evidence revealed by that lady from MI5, I cannot think of a better reason for bringing home our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.
They could be re-deployed in rounding up all those maniacal terrorists that have infiltrated our society and disposing of them in a manner decided by our determined government.
I believe that within six months the problem would be resolved and, should it ever reappear, our lads would be right here to protect us.

Rush hour delays
FOR years I have travelled down Wavertree Road in the rush hour traffic, fighting through the buses and taxis trying to merge in at the end of the bus lane. Most of them are not very courteous drivers as even with your indicator on they wouldn't let you merge in.
It usually took me 20-30 minutes to travel home to Huyton from my workplace at the University of Liverpool.
Now some bright spark has decided to put traffic lights at the end of the bus and through traffic lanes, it is even worse now than it was trying to get a bus or taxi to let you merge in.
The lights on the bus lane go on green even when the bus lane is empty and the queues in the 'through traffic' lane are backed right up to the old Bridge Inn.
Aren't there some kind of sensors laid down at traffic lights to know when a lane is not being used? To make things worse, you get drivers who get near to the traffic lights and then skip lanes as to which traffic lights are on green, including taxis, there are no cameras on the traffic lights either to deter this. It now takes me on average an extra 15 minutes to get home.
It probably would have been better and less frustrating for ordinary motorists to send most of the bus and taxi drivers on a course in courteous driving!
Or install cameras on the bus lane and fine the drivers who shouldn't be in there.
