Image threat

AFTER reading articles in the ECHO all week covering the opposition to the visit of Condoleezza Rice by various trade unions and anti-war protesters, I feel enraged that this small minority of liberals and lefties claims to speak on behalf of the people of Liverpool and threatens the image of the city by protesting against the visit of the US Secretary of State.

The people of Liverpool must not let these people hijack the visit and re-enforce the image that the national media already have of us.

Proud of Paul

WHILE watching the national news it was good to see Scouser Paul McCartney and his wife Heather in Canada urging people to contact Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper in the fight to stop the barbaric slaughter of baby seals which are killed for their skins.

While watching the news I cried because of the cruelty going on but I was also proud that a Scouser was telling the world just what is going on in Canada.

Well done Paul and Heather, keep up the good works and thank you for making people aware.

C Traynor,
Kirkby
