Michael Shields
Defiant Shields in final bid for justice
Michael's dad, Michael Snr, will attend court to support his son.
He said: "Michael is pretty down at the moment.
"He is looking forward to the hearing, because he knows he is innocent and he has got to have faith.
"At the same time, he's obviously worried that things may not go his way. He's been in jail for 10 months now, and it's hard for him."
"All we can do is keep on supporting him, and hope the court makes the right decision."
A Foreign Office spokesman said: "Michael Shields' final appeal will be heard by the Cassation Court (Supreme Court).
"This court will look into procedural matters but will not examine new evidence.
"New evidence will only be examined if the Cassation Court decides to send the case back to the Court of First Instance for retrial, if they discover procedural violations in the court process."
