Waterloo Dock win battle of Premier rivals

ANTHONY BATTLE scored the vital goal that took champions Waterloo Dock five points clear of LCFA Challenge Cup winners (Aigburth PH).

East Villa and Red Rum shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw which leaves both sides firmly in mid-table, Lee Pegram with the strike for Villa replied to by Steve Flynn.

Ford Motors go fifth on the back of a 3-0 away win at struggling Kingsley United, a brace from Leather and a single from Pearson.

Lucas Sports appear to be out of their rut after a 5-1 demolition of Cheshire Lines, Louis Potter with a hat-trick aided by Paul Wainwright and Francis Barry.

St Aloysius go third after a 4-0 mauling of Old Xaverians. The Aloys scored after 35 seconds and never looked back as Jamie Henders hit goals 11th and 12th of the season and Joey Duncan also popped up with a brace.

Shock of the day was the 2-0 defeat of Sacre Coeur FP by Birchfield. The Coeur slip to sixth while Birchfield remain in the bottom three. Mike Davies and Paul Johnson scored the goals .

South Liverpool struggling of late beat in-form South Sefton Boro 2-1 to move to 12th. Lee Poland hit a brace and James Mea scored for South Sefton.

In the First Division, the top of the table clash saw Essemmay OB move five points clear of rivals Leyfield with a 2-0 win, Mike Crowley and Carl Morris scoring.

Angus Village and Halewood Town drew 2-2, which still leaves Halewood looking over their shoulders a little. Craig Connor and Lee Mason struck the goals for Halewood, cancelled out by Dave Hughes and Luke Forman.

NELTC have found the winning touch again and go fifth after a 4-1 comprehensive defeat of Collegiate OB, James Hargreaves with a double as Chris Styles matched him witha double.
