Another treble as Ward is in Gear

Oct 20 2009

Liverpool Business Houses League

by Harry Rimmer, Liverpool Daily Post

THE fourth hat-trick in as many matches from James Ward and double strikes from Chris Hutton and John McFadden set up Division Three’s Gears United for an 8-3 win over MAS,

Andy McFerry and Phil Rimmer (2) replied.

Springfield, with two from Sam Cassidy, kept up the pressure at the top with an easy 6-1 win at The Pear Tree, who had Yinka on target once again.

The game between AC Croxteth and Aclass Cleaning only lacked goals but Versatile didn’t have any trouble beating Arriva Bus 5-0.

Tavener, Morgan, Rostron, Coyle and Southart grabbed the goals.

Double strikes from Ste Aimond and Dean Walsh gave Greystone the edge 4-2 at Linton and W Carroll Roofing had a seven goal thriller going their way with Turney and Hope sharing the goals in a 4-3 win against STL.

There were only two Premier League games due to the Sunday National Cup, which saw Mossley Hill, with Woodhall (2) and Virtue on target, come up short as Alder pulled them back with Langley, Naylor, O’Hare, Caddick and Tyrer hitting the net to gain a 5-3 win and goals from Barry, Harris and two from Potter gave St Sebastian’s a close 4-3 victory against Netherley Wood Lane Legion.

The Sunday National Cup had JOB performing well at Lindley WMC with Kaz Cole, Paul Todd and Peter Gannon on target for a fine 3-0 win.
