Five-star Brennan fires Cuban missiles

CHRIS BRENNAN was the hero as he scored a fabulous five goals for Windmill Bar Cuba in their annihilation of Sandbrook FC.

Colin Davis (2), Ashley Oldham and Paul Keogh were also on target in the 9-2 victory.

FC Vaults showed plenty of character as they overturned a 2-0 deficit to beat Vineyard FC 3-2. Dave Ratcliffe and Ben Davis scored.

Heswall edged out Horse & Jockey 1-0, with James Shaw scoring the vital goal.

In the Wirral District FA Junior Cup Ritchie Boyd and Gareth Barr paved the way for Kings' 2-1 win over Mersey Rangers.

Shillings Bar found the Oyster Catcher far too hot to handle crashing out 9-2.

In the Premier Division Tony Taylor scored a magnificent hat-trick for Brown FC in a 4-4 draw with Shaftesbury A. Stirrup Sports & Social's roller coaster season continues as James Jones and Kevin Upton secured a 3-2 win over The Warwick.

Houlihans Variety Club's 3-1 win over Royal Sun Alliance puts them fourth but it sees Royal Sun slip back to bottom. FC Beehive earned three priceless points as they beat FC Prenton 2-1. Gareth Owens and Scott Houghton scored to move them off the bottom.

In the FA National Sunday Cup, both local sides lost with Queen's Park losing 3-2 defeat to Seymoor after extra time. Dock FC's long trip to Bradford ended in a 2-0 defeat despite creating numerous chances.

In Division One, league leaders Penny Lane were given a scare in their game with Heygarth FC.

Adam Barton and Lee Williams were on target for Heygarth but Chris Noon (2) and Carl McCallie hit back for Lane. They have now opened up an 11-point lead at the top.

Hoylake Athletic's 5-1 win over Shaftesbury moved them into second.

Graham Jones led the way with a super hat-trick. David McDade and the evergreen Ali Herbert were also on the scoresheet.

Rock Ferry Social's Ray Redmond goal was cancelled out as St John's Celtic's Ian Ogilvie equalised to give the clubs a point apiece in a 1-1 draw.
