Paul Sculthorpe: Result of Grand Final could hinge on both sides’ kicking games
| |
Defences win matches SEAN LONG and Lee Gilmour didn’t get the dream ending to their Saints careers they were looking for last Saturday. Obviously that's a real pity but the loss shouldn't overshadow the contribution they have made to Saints over the years. They've both given a lot to the club and can be proud of their achievements in what has been a golden period for St Helens. I'm sure they'll get a warm welcome when they come back in opposition jerseys next season! Man of Steel Awards all well-deserved I HOPE Tony Smith gives youth a chance for England in the Gillette Four Nations which kicks off tomorrow week. We've got some good lads coming through and the old expression is 'if they're good enough, they're old enough'. The likes of Kyle Eastmond and Sam Tomkins look like they've got something different to offer. We've complained in the past about the lack of game-breakers in the side. Well, here are two players who can turn the game with a flash of brilliance. We should get some competitive games in the competition especially now the French have been allowed to include Clint Greenshields and Casey McGuire. They'll be basing their side on the Catalans team which played so well in the Super League play-offs. It's France who England kick-off against and hopefully our boys will get off to a flying start. |
