WIDNES moved into third place in the Co-operative Championship thanks to a battling victory in a tight game against Toulouse on Saturday.
The sides traded tries before Kevin Penny gave the Vikings the advantage three minutes before half-time.
Toulouse looked to be on their way to victory when two tries from Adrien Viala put them 24-16 ahead but late scores from Jim Gannon, Penny and Richard Varkulis turned things around for Widnes.
Barrow closed to within two points of leaders Halifax with a thumping 74-6 victory over Leigh.
The Raiders had lost three of their previous four games and were playing their first match under new coach Steve Deakin. The change of regime certainly did the trick as they ran in 13 tries.
