West Park determined to lay their bogeyman to rest at Darlington

Oct 28 2009

by James Connor, Liverpool Daily Post

WEST Park will be determined to lay the bogey when they visit Darlington Mowden Park at the weekend. The Merseysiders have never won there but strengthened by their great win at Cleckheaton earlier this month, they may feel that the tide is turning.

Darlington rest in mid table in National Three North with the visitors still lodged at the bottom despite grabbing a couple of welcome bonus points against Rossendale last weekend.

The medical treatment room at Red Rocks may provide the answers this week with a big list of players spending more time there than on the training area. Veteran Neil Ryan hobbled off last Saturday with a calf strain and he must remain doubtful as well as utility payer Rob Hitchmough, who is still restricted with ligament trouble. Mark Williams who played his first game after returning from injury is also expected to have a late fitness check.

When a team is suffering with such a huge injury list often it may be just a case of damage limitation.
