CHESHIRE lost to their old rivals Kent on the final day of the English Seniors Championship at Tandridge, Surrey.
“We have always previously come second to Cheshire so it is about time we came out on top,” said Kent captain Nick Allen after his team’s 5½-3½win.
Roger Fielding, Cheshire captain for all their previsions title-winning finals, said: “We did put ourselves in a position to win but lost to the better team on the day. We will hope to be back next year to get the title back.”
