NICK SARGENT from Eastham Lodge continued his run of fine form with a 69 return including four birdies for a 39 points total to win the Liverpool Alliance at Bromborough.
Ian Finnis from Formby Hall returned a four-under-par 32 on the back nine for second place with 38.
The father and son partnership of Tim and Rod Backhouse on their home course won the pro-am with 44 in a return which included a net eagle for Rod when he holed his bunker shot on the par-five 7th.
In the chasing pack, four pairs shared second place with 41, Adam Powell (Hartford) with Sam Connor (Sandiway), Jack Wilkes (Eastham Lodge) with Frank Barham (Chester), Ian Finnis (Formby Hall) and Derek Howard (Woolton) and Robin Carroll (West Derby) with Peter Carroll (Bromborough).
The am-am also produced a close finish with three sharing first place, Caldy’s Norman Halsall and Roger Swede, Allan Harrison and Stuart Fawcett from Southport and Ainsdale and Huyton and Prescot’s Terry O’Hara and Ray Kenny. All three pairs returned 41.
