TOM GEORGE has yet to firm up plans for Aintree’s totetentofollow Old Roan Chase, with stable stars Nacarat and Tartak still engaged.
Last season’s Racing Post Chase winner Nacarat rounded off his campaign with a fine third in the Melling Chase over Saturday’s course and distance, while Tartak routed a decent field in the Manifesto Novices’ Chase.
George would ideally not like to let his two smart prospects lock horns on Merseyside, but may not have much option.
The Stroud handler said: “We’ll have to see what happens with the weather. “Our plan is to run Tartak at Aintree and obviously I’d prefer not to run them both.
“But I can’t let Nacarat’s preparation be hindered as he has to have gaps between his races.”
