All eyes will be focused on the most successful tennis player of all-time, Navratilova, but the entertaining double acts of Bahrami and Nastase, Leconte and McNamara will prove even more compelling, while ATP players have traditionally moved on from Liverpool to perform well at Wimbledon.
"What Martina is doing at 47 is unbelievable," said Borg.
"She is such a fantastic ambassador for the sport and is still returning 150mph serves.
"Our philosophy is to take tennis out of a snobbish environment in closed clubs and bring it out to the public, and what better place than Calderstones with its 36 grass courts?
"It's a beautiful location and the perfect venue. The alternative is to travel to London for Wimbledon, where you can easily add a zero to the ticket prices we are charging."
Tennis starts at 11am tomorrow, with the final match beginning on Wednesday and Thursday at 6.30pm.
