Tottenham captain Michael Dawson hopes his recent good form will earn him a "dream" recall to the England squad.
Andre Villas-Boas made Dawson available for transfer last summer, but he chose to rebuff QPR's overtures and stayed at Tottenham, where he has since broken back into the first team. Reports on Wednesday morning suggested Dawson could be included in the Three Lions squad for this month's World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro.
The 29-year-old has not played for England for almost two years and admits he would love to earn a recall. "It would be a dream (to be recalled)," the centre-back told TalkSPORT.
He added: "I got asked this question when I first got back in to the Spurs team. Then, I just had to concentrate on staying in the Tottenham team.
"Now I'm playing regularly for Tottenham...Fingers crossed. It would be nice to get that England call-up."
