It was brotherly love this morning at the Aquatics Centre as Oliver and Sam Hynd made it into tonight's final of the SM8 200 metres individual medley in second and third.
Oliver is enjoying his Games debut having already taken a silver in the S8 400m freestyle, one place ahead of elder brother Sam, as well as bronze in the S8 100m backstroke last night.
Today the 17-year-old took over from early leader Konstantin Lisenkov on the breaststroke leg before winning his heat in two minutes 27.95 seconds to qualify second, 0.51secs behind Holland's Maurice Deelen.
He said: "My strokes didn't feel as good as I wanted them to so if I can go that fast when not feeling brilliant that is good for tonight. I just think I wasn't that sharp, just because it's the morning swim. I'll be a little bit sharper tonight and just generally faster."
Sam was second in the heat behind his brother, 1.44secs adrift, after a strong breaststroke moved him through the field.
He said: "That is my favourite leg - if we had more of that that would be great. Unfortunately there isn't but I knew the guys would go ahead on the fly and back as they always do. But I have a reliable breaststroke so for tonight it's just taking little chunks off each 50 and that should bring it down."
Robert Welbourn reached the final of what promises to be a highly competitive S10 400m freestyle. The Chesterfield-born swimmer was third in his heat in 4mins 17.13secs with just a little over six seconds separating the entire field tonight.
Welbourn, silver medallist in 2008 and European champion, said: "The world has really stepped up in this event. There are quite a few new swimmers and some old faces that have improved as well. It will be close, I think the medals could go anywhere really, the whole field is looking really strong."
He added: "For me, that was kind of a comfortable swim. Normally I build into the race and get stronger and stronger as I go on whereas this morning I didn't really step up a gear at all and wanted to conserve as much energy as I could for tonight."
