Laura Trott, Dani King and Elinor Barker won Great Britain's first gold of the 2013 Track Cycling World Championships with victory in the women's team pursuit in Minsk.
After Becky James won her second medal of the competition with bronze in the non-Olympic women's 500metres time-trial, Trott, King and Barker combined to extend Britain's rich history in the 3km, three-woman event on day two.
The trio clocked three minutes 18.140 seconds to beat Australia's Annette Edmondson, Ashlee Ankudinoff and Melissa Hoskins by 1.773secs as Britain won a fifth title in six years since the event was added to the World Championships programme in 2008.
Minsk is the first World Championships on the road to the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016, but 20-year-old Trott and 22-year-old King already have an established pedigree in the event.
The pair set six successive world records in winning world and Olympic titles in 2012 alongside Joanna Rowsell.
Rowsell was absent, concentrating on the road this year, with 18-year-old Barker taking her place and the transition was seamless.
The trio qualified almost two seconds quicker than the field in 3:18.704 and justified their status as favourites in the final, giving Trott and King their third successive titles and Barker her first.
The 3km team pursuit will, following this competition, become a 4km, four-rider event, with Rowsell poised to return as Britain seek to continue their domination towards and in Brazil.
Britain's only World Championships defeat in the event was in 2010, when Australia won gold.
Trott will now ride in the women's omnium, which begins on Saturday, while King will compete in the scratch race on Friday and Saturday's points race.
