ONE of the biggest news stories last week was the fire at Garlands - and clubbers have been left in a state of shock since the blaze destroyed one of the UK's finest clubs.
I spoke to one of Garlands' main DJs, Huey, and owner John Cummings, to ask what the plans are for the future.
Huey admits that after the fire there seemed to be quite a bit of depression and pessimism surrounding the club, but that has now lifted with the announcement of a new venue.
"From this Saturday, we have relocated to the Escape until the end of August and then we will be moving to The State," he revealed.
"We have chosen The State in Dale Street for many reasons. It's a stunning building with an incredible history, it is close to Garlands and it certainly has a lot of romance attached to it.
"It also strikes a chord with almost every clubber in Liverpool; it's one of the city's oldest dance clubs and over the years there have been some amazing parties there, so things are really looking up."
Huey said the fire has made the public support for Garlands and what it stands for even stronger.
